TNt e e - ——— e . - o BEMIDJI, BELTRAMI COUNTY AND NORTHERN MINNESOTA. PHILLIP GILL. GILL BROS. As indicated by the illustrations embodied in this Souvenir ‘“Booster” Edition of The Pioneer, Gill Bros. represent, collectively speaking, another factor which goes to bring Bemidji to the front as a city of the first class, and as the only available city in which to locate the proposed Normal School. Gill Bros. are clothiers. They are ex- residents of Minneapolis, consequently they are up to date and doing. They realized the financial possibilities of this section. They have been recompensed in a dozen different ways on the strength of their judgment. They have not only added to their original possessions, but they have deeply ingratiated themselves into the es- teem of the financial and social world alike. They are two young men who have made a hit, they are gentlemen whom it is a pleasure to meet, and their career as busi- ness men is untarnished. Gill Bros. represent the proprietorship of two stores. They furnish desired needs in the way of clothing and men’s furnishings, as well as material aid to Bemidji’'s great- ness. They handle every well known line of men’s and boys’ clothing and furnishings, haberdashery, hats, caps, shoes, lumber- DAVID GILL men’s clothing, fur coats, and everything in the way of garments known to the trade. They have the true interests of the city at heart, and are just such men who invoke activity and thrift. They are citizens who deserve the pat- ronage which comes to their counters, hus- tlers from the word go, and if there is an element which tends towards the greatness of Bemidji, Gill Bros. can be relied upon to supply their share of enthusiasm and ma- terial aid. Gill Bros. are among Bemidji’s most pop- ular business men., They are two young men who do things as they should be done, they are experts in their line of business, and The Pioneer gladly accepts this occa- sion to add that Gill Bros. are “there” in every way that the term implies. THE T. J. MILLER COMPANY. Perhaps there is no better known real estate firm in this portion of north-central Minnesota than the above named firm. This firm is composed of Thomas and Dwight D. Miller, gentlemen who opened up business here in the year 1902, imbued as they were, with the limitless possibilities of Bemidji T. J. MILLER. and Beltrami county. Commencing on a nominal scole, the dealings of this firm have grown to such a magnitude that they have opened a branch office in St. Paul, Minn., which will be under the supervision of Thomas J. Miller, senior member of the firm, a condition of affairs which goes a great way to show what the outside public think of the values of this region. This real estate firm has at its disposal thousands of acres to barter, rent or sell, inclusive of wild and cultivated lands and city realty. They are underwriters not only for the best old line insurance com- panies doing busienss in the northwest, but the most prominent companies in the United States. This firm also makes loans on any available collateral, they conduct a renting agency, and in every other legiti- mate way they magnify the true real estate profession. Both Mr. T. J. and D. D. Miller are, by reason of their interests, energetic “boost- ers” for Bemidji. They contribute their stipend when the itnerests of the city are involved, they have a local record covering a period of six years; they are accredited wtih a judicious and equitable policy, and they constitute such a firm which goes to build up their home city. S. T. STEWART. In exploiting the land values of Bemidji and Beltrami county, and in our endeavor to show up Bemidji as an ideal pleasure resort, we can refer to the confectionery of Mr. Stewart as a criterion of the thrift and up-to-dateness of the city The Pioneer is “boosting,” as, of course, it should. Mr. Stewart can boast of one of the most elaborate confectionery stores in north- central Minnesota. He has installed a soda fountain which is on a range with any in this section, while the ice cream parlor he conducts is a model of cleanliness and comfort, and the service superb. Courteous and painstaking attention to the trade, pro- fessional catering for parties and public functions, and the excellence of the brick ice cream and superior candies and bon bons offered by Mr. Stewart has invoked a lasting and remunerative patronage, and one which can be relied. upon as perma- nent. Mr. Stewart is among the home patronage 2dvocates who has greatly benefited every interest of the city, a genial merchant who strives to please and meet every want of his long list of customers, and in our Souvenir number we can well afford to com- mend him to the good graces of our thous- ands of readers.
