BEMIDJI, BELTRAMI COUNTY AND NORTHERN MINNESOTA. OWL DRUG STORE BLOCK. INTERIOR OWL DRUG STORE. THE OWL DRUG STORE. As indicated by both the interior and exterior views of this well known drug store, it can readily be seen that it is the most modern, up-to-date and heavily stocked drug store in North Central Min- nesota. In fact it would be hard to find it’s equal and is a credit to Bemidji. The Owl drug store makes a specialty of pre- scription work, and the number of physi- cians who direct their patients to this store attests the faith they have in their ability to furnish proper remedies and ingredients which are fresh and which will have the desired effect. The Owl Drug Store has an elegant soda fountain and large liquid carbonic. and only the purest syrups and fruijt juices are used in the numerous soft drinks they serve, which, as a matter of course, include every known popular drinks, and is very popular with summer tourists. This store also carries a lin- of high grade cigars, and as to natent* medicines, their line is wholly complete. Post cards and small souvenirs of var- ious kinds are also to be had at this store, and the patronage which this store has won by virtue of its up-to-date busi- ness policy, unstinted public approbation Mr. F. A. Mayo, the owner of the Ow’ Drug Store, is what might be called a Bemidji pioneer, and during the ten year- he has been here, he has made number- less friends. earned a competence and ha- given convincing evidence of what is ir store for those who have the sagacity tr settle in this cection. CHARLES L. CUMMER. Mr. Cummer has been in business since July last, but since that time, he, like others of our enterprising business men, has proved that success crowns the efforts of every one who invests in this city. Mr. Cummer came here from Chicago, where he was recognized, the same as he is here, as an expert jeweler and optician. His place of business, which, by the way, occupies a portion of the Owl Drug Store, is replete with an elegant line of silver and gold arti- cles, jewelry, the best makes of watches and clocks. precious stones and Jjewelry novelties, while the repair work he turns out is noted for its correctness and skillful touch. Having had experience along his line in some of the largest cities in the country, Mr. Cummer is indeed qualified to perform the work expected at the hands of an expert jeweler, and at the same time select for his stock only such wares as will give satis- faction. The public can rely upon his repre- sentations, his distinct honor in all busi- ness matters, and it is largely owing to these attributes on his part that he has built up the lucrative trade which he now enjoys and which is daily increasing. The Pioneer can heartily endorse Mr. Cummer to its thousands of readers, and -wishes him the same degree of success which has attended his past efforts. J. M. PHILLIPPI. Coming to Bemidji some eleven years ago, J. M. Phillippl is one of the real ploneer settlers of Beltrami county, and withal one whose sterling integrity and strong personal worth have made for him a host of true friends among the residents of this section. Mr. Phillippi was for many years a re- spected resident of Eagle Bend, Todd county, prior to locating in Bemidji, and his record there as a splendid citizen preceded him to Bemidji, and his life since becoming .. one of us has been spotless and filled with usefulness. Before making his home at Eagle Bend, Mr. Phillippi lived at Sisseton, | E , , : :
