As an intensely loyal supporter of his Lhome town and an enthusiastic “booster” of everything that will benefit this locality, Mr. Peterson is doing his full share towards developing Bemidji into the premier city of the entire district of Minnesota north of the Twin Cities and west of Duluth. Mr. Petersoan is an exemplary citizen, a square, fair business man, loyal to a large degree, honest and tearless, which accounts tor his immense popularity. "W. M. ROSS. This is another live and up-and-doing business house of Bemidji, and carries everything in the hardware line, having the exclusive agency for some of the best known and most reliable articles in the hardware trade such as ‘‘Round Oak”- ranges, stoves and heaters, ‘‘Minnehaha” washing machines, “T. The rear part of this establishment is not neglected, here is the tinners depart- ment presided over by an expert who turns out all kinds of tin work in first class shape. Always alive to the best interests of Bemidji during his nine years’ residence here, Mr. Ross has made his power felt, and has at the same time made.a lasting reputation. He is a booster and deserves the success he has attained in his busi- ness. His stock is composed of the latest make of goods, the latest inventions in the hardware field, and is replete to the last detail. The Pioneer is well aware of the deservedness of Mr. Ross as a business man who has done his share toward ‘“booming’”’ Bemidji, and it there- fore is more than willing to allof to him this brief mention. - A. A. RICHARDSON’S PHOTOGRAPHING AND ILLUSTRATING COMPANY. Another ‘booster” for Bemidji and Bel- trami county and Northern Minnesota is A. A. Richardson and his associates, who con- duct the A. A. Richardson: Photographing and Illustrating Company. Headed by Mr. Richardson, this enterprising firm is doing much to advance the weltare of the com- munity by advertising the attractions and giving prima facie evidence of our greatness by issuing excellent photos of views of our local enterprises, together with scenes of our beautiful points of interest, which abound on every hand. Mr. Richardson personally supervises the taking of view photos, in which undertaking he excels all others in northern Minnesota. During the past few years, Mr. Richardson has visited every part of northern Minne- sota, with his camera, and he has succeeded in securing a collection of views that are priceless in value and highly artistic in point of workmanship and finish, The views include every known subject, from photos of beautiful points of scenery to views of scenes in logging camps and cities and towns. These views are very complete, and Mr. Richardson is using many of them on postal cards, in which he has a large busi- ness, and all the views are copyrighted. Panoramic views are Richardson’s delight. Mr. Richardson keeps a number of em- ployes at his home studio in Bemidji, where the views are completed, and all of these employes are skilled in their line of work. In addition to making a specialty of views, Mr. Richardson is also an adept in taking home portraits, using splendid flash- lights of the latest pattern. He also finishes plates for amateurs. Mr. Richardson is an enthusiastic ad- mirer of Bemidji and her energetic people, and he has prominently identified himself with the thirty-third degree “boosters” for the “HUB CITY” of Northern Minnesota. He is emphatic in his expressed belief that Bemidji is destined to rank as the first city of the entire district of Northern Minnesota, excepting only Duluth, the “Zenith City of the unsalted seas.” Mr. Richardson allows no opportunity to go by whereby he can “boost” Bemidji. All of his printed stationery bears this slogan: “Bemidji—The metropolis of Central Northern Minnesota. _ “Beltrami County—The second largest in the State.” INTERIOR ROSS HARDWARE STORE. * DR. J.
