All these gentlemen will be given ample support from the corps of traveling representatives they have re- tained, and it is but meet to aver that the promoters of the Northern Grocery Com- pany will realize the compensatory business they anticipated when they incorporated and made Bemidji their headquarters. This galaxy of experienced men will un- doubtedly be extended a cordial welcome in their new responsibility and The Pioneer especialy extends its most ardent apprecia- tion to all of these men of mature business training, and for the erection of the build- ing they have completed. The Northern Grocery Company will handle, chief among other pure food pro- ducts, the famous Cottage Brand of goods. This brand of canned goods, spices, baking powder and extracts compares with any ever offered, and their merit will undoubtedly secure a permanent standing in the Great Northwest. They will also make a specialty of the celebrated “Occident” flour, and the “Banner,” “La Verdad” and ‘La Linda” cigars, high-class articles of which they are sole distributors for the Northwest. The Northern Grocery Company means much to Bemidji in manifold ways. It will increase the population, employ well paid labor, enrich the city with an additional magnificent business block, will influence the investment of other captial into this rapidly growing trade field, but above all else, it will serve as an indubitable evi- dence that Bemidji is not only a suitable but a profitable site for those who contem- plate entering wholesale mercantile pur- suits. MELGES BROS. This is the largest fruit, commission and cold storage house between Minneapolis and Canada. They conduct business on a stupendous scale, and that they fulfill the anticipations of their enormous number CURRIE, Sales Manager Nortnern Grocery Co. of customers is manifest by the rapid prog- ress the company has made from the day of ils establishment. As may be inferred from their business title, Melges Bros. are wholesalers of for- eign and domestic fruits, vegetables and poultry, fish and game. They are among the most widely known houses in the great northwest, and a single transaction with them will prove their righiful claim to the trade which comes to them. Melges Bros. own the up-to-date building in which they carry on business. They have prospered to an inordinate degree, and the photo of their place of business serves as another impressive illustration of the enterprise and prosperity of Bemidji. Melges Bros. are reckoned among the powerful factors of the mnorthwest, both financially and personally.
