The new homes range in size from 8ix to eight rooms and are of the sub- | stantial brick or stucco types which | characterize the 33 homes already built in this growing subdivision, Seidenspinner states. New urban home construction and building credit are far from being | overexpanded, Horace Russell, general | counsel of the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, declared in an address this week before the Board of Direc- tors of the National Retail Lumber Dealers’ Assoclation in the Raleigh Hotel. The total credit made available for that purpose in 1936, Mr. Russell said, was about one-half of normal and the amount made available for new con- struction about one-third of normal. The best estimates indicate, he said, that in 1936 less than $2,000,000,000 of credit was made available for home financing. About one-third of that was for new construction, one-third for refinancing and one-third for other purposes. “A few people are becoming ex- cited,” said Mr. Russell, fearing that too much credit is being made avail- | able and that too much building is | going on, but it is difficult to get ADVANCE SHOWING of 6 New Detached Homes Exhibit Home 61193rd St.N.W.
