STOCK DUE ON BIG BOARD S. E. C. Approval of Ex- change Listing Action Likely This Month. Spectal Dispatch to The Star. NEW YORK, April 1.—The $1 par common (938,375 shares) of the Glenn L. Martin Co. is due for listing on the New York Stock Exchange following approval by the §. E. C., some time n April, of the favorable action of the exchange. The company in 1928 suc- ceeded a business originally established in 1907 and thus has & record which extends back virtually to the inception of the aviatign industry, according to the Standard Statistics Co. of New York. Its busines includes the design= ing, engineering, developing, manufac- turing and selling of aircraft and air- craft parts and equipment for military and commercial use, and the sale of licenses to import, manufacture, as- semble, use and sell aircraft and air- craft parts. By far the greater proportion of its business for many years has been with the United States Army and Navy. In 1934 and 1935, however, a fairly substantial proportion of total sales represented an order for the con- struction of three flying boats for Pan- American Airways, and last year the company had foreign business of $1,- 709,340 out of a total of $6,219,774, which represented almost entirely the sale of bombing planes and parts. Orders on hand were recently an- nounced to be approximately $12,500,- 000, all scheduled for delivery within the current year. These orders are believed to represent almost wholly contracts with foreign governments. Actual 1937 deliveries are expected to| be limited by the capacity of the plant, although a $2,000,000 expansion pro- | gram, now under way, is expected to be completed late this year. Earnings last year amounted to 87 cents & share on the 842,083 shares of | $1 common stock outstanding at thei year end. The December 31 capitaliza- tion also included $1,155,500 in five- year 6 per cent convertible notes, due in 1939 Conversion of these notes, which is progressing steadily, will not | involve any substantial dilution of earnings applicable to the stock, how- ever.
