CAT FANCIER WAR ENLIVENED BY SUIT $50,000 Action Charges At- tempt to Dominate Co- |lumbian Group. A $50,000 damage suit is the latest development in the court fight between the two factions of Washington's cat fanciers. The suit was filed in District Court late yesterday by two representatives of the self-styled “no” members against a group which was charged with attempting to dominate the Co- lumbian Cat Fanciers, Inc. The plaintiffs, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Chase Koehne, 2803 Eighteenth street, contended certain individuals among the defendants tried to coerce all in the organiastion into becoming “yes” members. The origin of the dispute was not revealed. Named as defendants were Mary E. Hantzmon, 812 Maryland avenue northeast, leader of one faction; Mrs. Louise Metcalf, 3212 Klingle road; the Oat Fanciers’ Association, parent body of the Columbian Cat Fanciers, THE EVENING STAR, WASHINGTON, D. C, THURSDAY," FEBRUARY 25, 1937. Inc.; Herbert 8. Ward, attorney; Mary Fogarty of the Sacred Heart rectory and Mrs. Casper W. Hall, 525 Ogle- thorpe street. The plaintiffs charged that one of some of the other members to be re- luctant to attend future meetings. It th ganization all who would not become “yes” members. Because of prior suits filed by the defendant group, persons are res luctant to join the cat fanciers’ group, the court was told. All this has resulted to the great damage ‘of the corporation and the plaintiffs, the suit asserted. Actual of 3&000 and punitive Sale of Feed Regulated.
