Republican Women Hold Reception The League of Republican Women, of which Mrs. William Fitch Kelley is president, held a tea yesterday after- noon in honor of the wives and daugh- ters of Republican Senators and mem- bers of the House in the league’s club | rooms at Sixteenth street and Scott circle. This tea was the last meeting to be held in the league's present quarters, headquarters will be located in the Hotel Raleigh. The hostesses yesterday were Mrs. ‘Wallace H. White. jr.; Mrs. Ralph Church, Mrs. John Taber, Mrs. Lloyd Thurston, Mrs. Charles M. Lea and | Mrs. James M. Green. Due to illness, Mrs. E. A. Harriman was unable to be present. Following the tea a musical program was given under the direction of Mrs. Flora McGill Keefer, who presented the Opera Club Sextet, which is com- posed of Norma Simonson, soprano; Katherine Warren, soprano; Ione Hoffman, alto; Frederick Denniston, tenor; Dolph Atherton, baritone, and Phillip Charles, bass. Dorothy Radde Emery was the accompanist. LAYMEN TO CONDUCT SERVICES TOMORROW Representatives of Other Denom- inations to Attend Washington Hebrew Congregation Meeting. The regular Friday evening services of the Washington Hebrew Congre- gation will be given over tomorrow to the Brotherhood of the congrega- tion for its annual layman service. In co-operation with the Confer- ence for Promotion of Cood Will Be- tween Jews and Christians, the Brotherhood will conduct a special service and will have as its special guests the Knights of Columbus, the Bible Class of Calvary Baptist Church, the Men's Club of Foundry Methodist Episcopal Church and the Brother- hood of Service of the Mount Pleasant Congregational Church. Harold Strauss, president of the Brotherhood, will read the service, which will begin at 8:15 pm. Irving Diener of Alexandria, past president of the Brotherhood will give the ad- dress. TRIP TO AZORES BEGUN BY DUTCH SUBMARINE Officers and Crew of 0-16 Enter- tained While Visiting in Capital. ‘The Netherlands submarine Q-16 to- day was headed for the Azores, having departed from the Washington Navy Yard yesterday afternoon. Lieut. Comdr. Lyman S. Perry, aide to the commandant of the yard, went down to see the visitors off. The sub- marine reached Washington February 15 and officers and crew were tendered various entertainments while here. Prof. F. A. Vening Meinesz, expert in gravity experiments under water, who was a passenger on the ship to this country, also is returning to Hol- land aboard the craft. After leaving the Azores, the Q-16 goes to Lisbon, Portugal, and thence to the Nether- lands, where she is expected to arrive late next month. e e DINNER FOR YALE COACH Alumni Here Plans Pond Tribute Tomorrow Night.
