Strike-plagued branches of the automobile industry turned their at- tention today to a conference at Wash. ington between John L. Lewis, head of the Committee for Industrial Or-| ganization, and leaders of glass and| automobile workers' unions. | Conferees included President Glen ‘W. McCabe of the Flat Glass Workers ~who have 14,000 members on strike ~and President Homer Martin of the United Automobile Workers. YULE PLANS GIVEN FOR WHITE HOUSE Decoration of Mansion. to Start Tomorrow—Family Tree to Be on 2d Floor. ‘The White House will start its Christmas decorations tomorrow and, within a few days, will present a real ‘Yuletide atmosphere. The first steps will be to place Christmas trees on either side of the main doorway and a large wreath above the doorway. When these have been arranged and strung with col- ored electric bulbs, the work of plac- ing wreaths in the many windows of the White House, as well as the ad- joining executive offices, will be be- gun.
