A—16 »x» CONSOLIDATED OL BOOSTS DIVIDEND Directors Increase Common Stock Rate From 15 to 20 Cents. By the Assoclated Press. NEW YORK, December 17—Direc- tors of Consolidated Oil Corp. today announced an increase to 20 cents from 15 cents in the common dividend rate and declared a regular quarterly divi- dent at the new rate. The disburse- ment is payable February 15 to stock of record January 15. A pay increase of 5 per cent of their annual salaries also was announced for 20,000 employes. The pay raise was effective December 16 for all em- pioyes receiving $5,000 or less an- nually. American Bank Note. A dividend of 25 cents a share on the eommon stock, together with a year- end dividend of 15 cents a share, was announced by American Bank Note Co. Payment will be made December 24 to holders of record December 8. The directors also declared a quarterly dividend of 75 cents a share on the preferred stock, payable January 2 to stock of record December 8. A. Nash Company. Directors of the A. Nash Co. de- clared a dividend of $1 a share in cash and $1 a share in debentures, both to be paid December 24, to stockholders of record December 21. Chairman W. H. Albers said the debentures would be redeemed next year. The company has 23,800 shares outstanding. It paid a $1 a share cash dividend earlier this | year. Total payments per share in 1935 were 50 cents Outdoor Advertising. General Outdoor Advertising Co. announced & dividend of $3 a share on the first preferred stock, payable December 26 to holders of record De- cember 21. NEW YORK, December 17.—The price of New York Stock Exchange seats showed a bullish trend today with the transfer of a membership at $115,000, up $10,000 from the previous sale. At this level membership values show a recovery of $26,000 from the year's low, recorded on December 1. The high for the year was $174,000, in February. CARRIERS ORDER MORE EQUIPMENT Norfolk & Western Con- tracts for 40,000 Tons of Rails and Coal Cars. By the Assoclated Press. NEW YORK, December 17.—Recent predictions in trade circles the steel industry would continue operations at a brisk pace were given weight to- day by additional orders for railroad equipment. Norfolk & Western Railway placed orders for 40,000 tons of rails, of which 30,000 tons will be made by Carnegie=- Illinois Steel Co. and 10,000 by Bethle- hem Steel. The road also awarded a contract for 1,000 steel hopper coal cars of 55 tons capacity to Bethlehem Steel Co., Johnstown, Pa. The following plans for purchases of freight cars were disclosed by Iron Age: The Pennsylvania Railroad will buy 2,500 freight cars. The Erie is in the market for 750 box cars, 500 auto- mobile cars and 250 gondola cars. The Illinois Central will buy 1,000 | cars. The Missouri-Kansas-Texas is in the market for 500 gendola cars, | 500 stock cars and 150 automobile cars. The Burlington Refrigerator | Express is inquiring for 300 cars.
