NEW YORK, December 6.—Business entered the final month of the year with a fresh burst of speed, Dun & Bradstreet, Inc., said in its weekly re- view issued today. Payment By the Associated Press. BALTIMORE, December 6.—More than 7,000 depositors in the old Hagerstown Bank & Trust Co. will receive 10 per cent of their deposits before Christmas. Announcement of the dividend to the depositors was anounced by War- ren F. Sterling, bank commissioner. The payment will amount to about $300,000. The payment is the first since the bank closed in 1933. Accounts of depositors have been audited and the report filed with the Circuit Court. CHICAGO, December 6.—Montgom- ery, Ward & Co. today reported No- vember sales totaled $30,910,462, larg- est of any November in the company's history. Sales in November, 1929, “boom era” peak year, were $29,- 851,303, Last month's sales were 14.91 per cent abcve the November, 1934, total of $26,900,806. Sales for the 10 months | ended November 30 were $248,118,454, and for the same period of 1934, $209,- 310,649. In October the company one of the largest mail order and retail mer- chandising institutions in the world, reported $35,000,000 sales, more than for any other month since the com- pany was founded. CHICAGO, December 6.—A recapi~ talization plan to clear up dividend arrearage on the preferred stock of the Brunswick-Balke-Collender Co. will be submitted to stockholders at & special meeting here December 20, R. F. Bensinger, president, announced. Accumulated unpaid dividends on the preferred stock will total $29.75 a share on January 1. Under th@ | proposed plan, H. C. Dirks, treasurer, said directors would vote a cash di- vidend of $4.75 a share in addition to a stock allotment of 114 shares of new $5 no par preferred stock for the present 7 per cent preferred stock A majority vote is necessary to adopt the program. A profit of $63,634 for the first nine months of 1935 was reported by the company, reducing the deficit at Sep= tember 30 to $997,934.
