Johnson has announced he will call & special session of the State Legisla- ture October 30 for “the sole purpose of considering the impeachment of Becretary of State Jimmy Carr.” Previously the Governor had said the session also would consider re- vision of the State liquor code. The Legislature will investigate Carr’s conduct of the office of chief Yliquor ‘licensing authority, [SCHOOL OPENS SPORT STRUCTURE TOMORROW Basket Ball Game, Rally and| Talk by Principal Will Mark Dedicatory Exercises. A $60,000 new sports building will be opened tomorrow at the Madeira School for Girls, Greenway, Va. Dedicatory exercises will include a basket ball game, a student rally and a brief address by Mrs. Lucy Madeira Wing, principal. The building was designed by Wal- dron Faulkner, New York architect, and constructgd by the James Baird Co. It is brick and harmonizes with the architecture of the rest of the school. Construction cost $50,000 and equipment $10,000. Contributions came from alumni, sudents and friends. Equipment includes basket ball, ten- nis and badminton courts as well as a recreation room, with soda foun- tain, locker room with showers for day pupils and a natural dancing room. RESTAURATEUR FINED Second Forfeits Bond on Charges by Health Department. The Health Department yesterday added two more to its list of restau- rant operators alleged to have violated the health ordinances. One was fined and the other permitted to forfeit. Ciro Galotti, operator of a res- taurani at 1304 G street, was fined $15 by Judge Gus A. Schuldt on charges of having unclean ice boxes, range and kitchen shelves. Sol Clip- ker, whose of business is at 1744 F street, forfeited $10 on charges of failing to thoroughly sterilize glasses, cups and silverware. WINS RADIO CONTEST Lansing Hatfield, Baltimors Bari- tone, Is Duchin Selection. The National Broadcasting Co. has Ed.|announced that Lansing Hatfleld, Baltimore baritone, who represented the Washington area in the Eddie Duchin country-wide amateur radio contest, had been adjudged the na- tional winner. Hatfield competed against Tom Daw- son of Devon, Pa. for top honors in | the national finals of the men's divi- sion October 15. The radio audience responded with 200,000 votes and gave Hatfleld a majority of 40,000. Bus Strike Effective.
