NEW YORK, October 24.—The vol- ume of bankers’ acceptances outstand- ing at the end of September showed a moderate gain over the preceding month, but the expansion was small in comparison with the usual experience at this season of the year, the Ameri- can Acceptance Council reported. The total as of September 30 was $327,834,317 against $321,807,411 on August 31. A year ago the volume outstanding was $211,586,000 greater. Robert H. Bean, secretary of the council, enumerated several factors which are operating against an in- crease in bill volume, including excess deposit totals in banks, low money rates and Government influence in certain commodity markets. —— INSURANCE STOCKS NEW YORK.
