SOCIETY. Ft. Belvoir Is Visited By General Chief of Engineers Delivers Lecture to Officers. FORT BELVOIR, Va., October 19.— Brig. Gen. George B. Pillsbury, assist ant chief of engineers, was a guest at Fort Belvoir yesterday, when he de- livered a lecture to the Regular Army officers’ class at Abbot Hall. A dance was given by the engineer mess last evening at Mackenzie Hall and was largely attended. Among the guests were several from Wash- ington and music for dancing was furnished by the post orchestra. Sev- eral dinner parties preceded the hop. | The Halloween dance which was originally scheduled for Friday night, | October 25, will be given Saturday night instead. The hunting season will open to- morrow morning for members of the engineer mess, who, are riding en- thusiasts, when riders will meet at Mackenzie Hall for a drag hunt. In addition to the field an observers' group will be formed for those riders. who wish to watch the hunt. A hunt breakfast will be served at the club following the ride. A radio foot ball party will be held in the main lounge of the Officers’ Club next Saturday afternoon, when & play-by-play chart will be kept of the Army-Harvard game, and refresh- ments will be served.
