NEW YORK, September 14.—The stock market today plodded along dully in the short session, with a lit- tle mild profit-taking leaving the gen- eral run of prices slightly lower at the finish. Some of Friday’s enthusiasm for the non-ferrous metal shares carried over into today’s dealings and a few spe- cialties were well taken. The more cautious tone of broker- age advices in regard to the near-term market movement, however, appeared to be reflected in a reluctance to reach very much for the recent favorites in the blue-chip group. The Associated Press average of 60 stocks was two-tenths of a point lower st 50.2, with the industrials, rails and utilities sharing ahout equally in the decline. Some of the individual rails showed a little better undertone than the list as a whole. Turnover in the Stock Exchange o ozl 2 S SR port. Current 000. early advances.
