CAPONE IN SOLITARY AFTER FISTIC CLASH _ Alcatraz Prison Guards Part Con- victs—First Report of Island Discipline. By the Assoclated Press. SAN FRANCISCO, March 15.—A prison official at grim Alcatraz Island disclosed - yesterday that Al Capone, the original “public enemy No. 1,” re- cently was sent to solitary confinement for four days because of a fistic en- counter with another convict. Capone struck at a fellow prisoner after an argument, it was sald, and the other convict struck back, but the blow fell short and his fist smashed into a piece of machinery. Guards separated them and consigned both to dungeons. . The story of the clash was the first to come out of Alcatraz regarding dis- cipline since its establishment last Fall as a theoretically escape-proof prison for the more dangerous Fed- eral convicts. 0 Capone, serving an 11-year sentence | ] | Furnish your bedroom completely and stylishly with this new moderne outfit.
