MANASSAS, Va., March 14.—Olaf Plerson, 30 of Loudoun County, was found guilty of involuntary man- slaughter and sentenced to 5 years in the penitentiary by a Prince Willlam County Circuit Court jury here Tues- in the shooting of Edward Walsh, 45, at a filling station at Woodbridge last October 29. Judge Walter McCarthy presided. No appeal was indicated by the defense. Walsh was shot to death when he endeavored to awaken Plerson, it was testified. The defense was hased on the claim that Plerson fired while still half asleep. He claims he thought he was being attacked and shot in self-defense. The trial lasted one day, and the Jury was out about 45 minutes. — In his 51 years as minister, Rev. A. B. Dykes, who has just retired in Pol- lock, Scotland, did not miss a Sunday through illness.
