White, 70 years old, for many years a musician and music teacher of Washington, died Monday at St. Agnes' Hospita!, Baltimore, Md., after a long iliness, He had trained many Was| musicians and mem- bers of the United States Marine Band. Dr. White was born and educated in Germany, recelving the degree of doctor of music from a German university. He came to Washington in 1881, following a tour of several years, during which he conducted grand opera in South Ameri- can cities. For many years he maintained a studio at Ninth sireet and Penns;!vania avenue, but later moved to Tenth and | F streets, where he continued to teach music until his iliness. Dr. White was a member of the Washington Council, Knights of Colum- bus, and the Fourth Degree Assembly of the same order. He had been a men- ber of the Washington Board of Trade and was a member of the Musicians’ Union.
