Mrs. Henry Breckenridge of New York City is at the Mayflower for a few days. Engagement Announced Of Miss Whitwell and Mr. Holmes. Mr. and Mrs. George Miller Whitwell have announced the engagement of their daughter, Helen, to Mr. James S.| Holmes of this city. ‘The marriage of Miss Velma May Mc- Candless, daughter of Capt. Byron McCandless, U. §. N, and Mrs. Mc- Candless, to Ensign Oakleigh W. Robin- son will take place Sunday at 1 o'clock in the home of the bride's parents at 3608 T street.
