After 33 years in Government service, John Roberts of 1343 Oak street was retired yesterday as assistant editor of the various publications issued by the Bureau of Animal Industry, Depart- ment of Agricul- ture. Mr. Roberts, who came to this country from North Wales, plans to visit his former home next Sum- mer following sev- eral months in Florida this Winter. With four years previous duty in the Navy Depart- ment, Mr. Roberts was transferred to the Bureau of An- imal Industry in 1901. He is well known in live stock circles for his compllations of data on production trends, per capita consump- tion of meat and other allied subjects. Mr. Roberts was captain of a chess team which has represented the Depart- ment of Agriculture from time to time in contests with other Government de- partments. Mr. Roberts is going to Florida to recuperate from injuries suffered in an automobile accident a year ago. Mr. Roberts.
