FINANCIAL VIGOROUS UPTURN SCORED BY STOCKS Operators for Rise Drive Shorts to Cover at Short Session. BY CLAUDE A. JAGGER, Associated Press Financial Editor. NEW YORK, September 6.— With their courage regained, bulls adminis- tered vigorous punishment to shorts in today's stock market, and share rose substantially, as trading qui to the best Saturday pace since early August.
