Va., September 6.—The ‘Washington Highway Association was formed at a public meeting at Burlington, Mineral County, this week, for the purpose of sponsoring & new coast-to-coast highway. ‘The mew association was the outgrowth of & meeting of the old Northwestern ‘Turnpike Association, Inc. The pro- new highway would follow the orthwestern Turnpike, United States No. 50, from Washington to St. Louls and thnmu ‘westward California. Virginia, all States traversed by the proposed route in the association with the naming of two vice presidents from each State, one active and the other the Governor of the State, an hon- orary officer. Nine directors would be chosen from each State, also. Temporary officers indicated a meet- ing to form a permanent organization would be held in Chilicothe, Ohio, probably within 30 days. Va., September 6 (Special) —Dr. Edwin Cameron of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, has been confirmed by the county court here to head the Berkeley County Health Unit, succeeding Dr. W. Ross Cameron, who goes to a similar position October 1 in Washington County, Md. He will re- port here before the end of September.
