Another resolution was adopted ask- ing the Board of Education to inform the association on the board's policy re- garding visual education and give Its schedule regarding the latter. An address was delivered by Miss Bertle Backus, principal of the Powell Junior High School and chairman of the superintendent’s committee on char- acter education in the public schools. Questionnaires to the teachers of the Powell Junior High School asking them what five traits the schools do most to develop showed the consenus, Miss Backus explained, as follows: | First, to develop self-reliance: second, leadership; third, resourcefulness; fourth, responsibility, and, fifth, co- operation.
