ANNAPOLIS, Md, June 8—The Jarge garden party given by Rear Ad- miral and Mrs. 8. 8. Robison and the June ball were the outstanding eyvents of the week in Annapolis. There were fewer parties of a private nature, but every one is entertaining guests. The ring dance, always interesting, took place also on Tuesday evening, when the men entering the first class wrear their class rings for the first time. A delightful picnic was given Thurs- day at wardour in honor of Lieut. Comdr. and Mrs. Morton L. Deyo, who Jeft for the West Coast Saturday. The plenic was arranged by Mrs. ‘Willlam . J. Giles, wife of Capt. Giles, and by Mrs. Wallis Gearing, wife of Lieut. Comdr. Gearing, and_most of Lieut. Comdr. and Mrs. Danfel McElduff spent the latter part of this week North, visiting at Philadelphia, Norfolk and New York, where they went to say good-by to relatives and friends before salling for China. Clark will be on sea duty. Miss Louise Boyd of San Francisco arrived Thursday to be the guest of Mrs, Harrison Colhoun, wife of Lieut. Comdr. Colhoun, at their home, Wind- gor Farms, near Annapolis. Comdr. and Mrs. Albert M. Penn ar- rived in Annapolis Friday, accompanied by their two daughters, and are the guests of Mrs. Penn's mother, Mrs. Smith, at the Colonial Apartments, on Maryland avenue. ‘The subscription dance given by the younger officers took place Friday eve- ning at “The Ship,” which is in the new Cooper Apartments, just completed, on the corner of Maryland avenue and Hanover street. Mrs. Harry A. Baldridge, wife of Capt. Baldridge, and their two sons ar- rived in Annapolis, and are occupying for a short time a house on Cheston avenue, Murray Hill. Capt. and Mrs. Baldridge's oldest son will go on the cruise this Summer, as he will be a member of the new third class. St. John's College Program Feature of Week's Calendar. Added to the gayety of June week in Annapolis has been the commence- ment exercises at St. John's College. On Sunday afternoon a reception was given the senior class by Dean and Mrs. Robert Bacon at their house at Wardour, and on Saturday evening an informal dance was given in the college gymnasium. Monday there was an alumni dance in Randall Hall for the alumni, and on Tuesday Dr. and Mrs. Enoch Barton Garey gave a lawn party at the Hammond-Harwood House. ‘Wednesday was graduation day, with exercises in the morning and luncheon afterward given by the governors and board of visitors in Randall Hall, The tea and lJawn party given by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Valiant at their home at Wardour Sunday was largely at- tended.
