Y., June 8 (#). —A radio beacon erected here has been successfully tried out in several test flights, Army Signal Corps aircraft en- gineers announced today. Clayton Shangraw, radio engineer from Wright Field, Dayton, Ohio, guided a plane in a definite flight about Long Island today by means of signals sent over the “goniometer” from the flying field. The beacon will be used in sending out weather reports in addition to flight signals. The beacon is one of four now in use at Army flying fields. | 'Turkey is suffering from the effect caused by the damage to crops during the severe Winter.
