BALTIMORE, Md., June 1.—The live poultry market shows an easier tone under fairly liberal receipts and demand has eased off with values a shade lower on practically all lines. For choice. large Spring chickens, 2 pounds and over. there is a fairly good demand at full values. but smaller sized | chickens are slow sale at inside prices and most of the receipts consist of this small, undesirable fowl. Leghorns, 2 pounds and over, in fairly good de- mand, but too many small Leghorns are arriving and are not wanted even at the lower values. The egg market has held steady all | week under moderate receipts, espe- cially of strictly fresh, well graded stock and closed firm today at 301; to 30% a dozen for firsts in free cases, but” small, undersized current receipts will not bring over 24. A fairly good and constant demand prevails on the street and all stock grading firsts un- der the candle meet with ready sale and no accumulations of desirable eggs noted.
