Tomorrow night at 8:30 o'clock the United Daughters of the Confederacy will hold a celebration at Confederate Memorial Hall, 1322 Vermont avenue, at which Judge Robert S. Hall of Missis- &ippi will pay tribute to the former Con- federate Executive. Members of Camp 171, and Camp 305, Sons of Confederate Veterans, will participate in the pro- gram Music will be furnished by the Marine Band at the Arlington services and | flowers wil be placed upon the graves of | the Confederate dead and the monu- | ment by the Daughters and Children of | the Confederacy and the Southern | Memorial Association. Wreaths also will | be placed upon the tomb of Gen. Joe ‘Wheeler and the Tomb of the Unknown Union Soldiers of the Civil War. The invocation will be pronounced by Parke P. Flournoy of Camp 171 and the benediction by Rev. John E. Briggs of the Fifth Baptist Church. Vocal selections will be rendered by a double quartet composed of the fol- lowing: Mrs. Fannle Shreve Heartsill, Mrs. Estelle Hunt Dean, Miss Lillian Chenoweth and Miss Marie Koontz, and Raymond A. Toenae, H. G. Mc- Cartney, Fred C. Shaffer and Francis P, Heartsill. Mrs. Hewett Will Preside. Mrs. Lorena Hewett, vice president of the District U. D. C, will preside at the exercises tomorrow night. The program was arranged by Mrs, Walter E. Hutton and Mrs, Maud Howell Smith and includes vocal selections by Dr. Clifton P. Clark and a duet by Mr. and Mrs. Francis P. Heartsill. Mrs. Smith wil give a reading entitied “The Little Bronze Cross.” CITY NEWS IN BRIEF. ‘TODAY.
