N., and her small son left this week for Hagers- town, Md., where she plans to spend the Summer with relatives. Sergt. Maj. Shapiro Honered pon His Retirement. A most colorful military ceremony was held on the parade ground on Fr: day afternoon for the retirement Sergt. Maj. David Shapiro, who just completed serving 30 years in the Marine Corps. A regimental parade, consisting of companies from the Bar- racks Detachment, Signal _Battalion and the 10th Regiment was held at 4 o'clock. The colors and color guard ‘were furnished by the Barracks De- tachment. The post band completed the detail necessarv for the ceremonv. Mrs. Miller. wife of Maj. Lyle H left this week for Northern Michigan where they have 2 Summer cottage on Crystal Lake. Mrs. Miller will be away for the Summer and Mdj Miller will join her later for his va- cation. Mrs. Woods, wife of Capt. S. A. Woods, arrived this week and is now at home in their quarters at the Post. Capt. Woods has been here several weeks. Mrs. Brown, wife of Capt. Lee H. Brown, who is on duty in the Judge Advocate General's office in Washing- ton. was a visitor at the post Tuesday. Capt. and Mrs. Brown have recently taken an apartment at 5402 Connecti- cut avenue in Washington. = Air Pilots From Brown Field ted for Bombing Practice. A number of pilots trom Brown Field are leaving the post Monday for bombing practice at Hampton Roads. Va., and will be away about two weeks. Miss Mary Tyler Heiner, daughter of Capt. R. G.
