LONDON, July 22.—Canon Mar- quis of Normandy, the only mar- quis in holy orders, says women are not as religlous as men. “Women have grown worse in the last 50 years, while the attitude of men toward religlon has im- proved,” declared the canon, who is still preaching, although he s 80 vears old. “I think many modern women have too material and arti- fical an outlook on life—perhaps it is the reaction from their greater freedom.” The venerable canon says the great need of the Istablished Church in England, 1s more vigor- ous men in {ts pulpits, and he urges the laity to assist the church in paying better salarfes. RED LAKE, Ontarlo, July 22.—Ly- ing face down in the sand, where two vears ago a flickering camp fire brav- ed the elements, the body of E. L. Murray, companion “sourdough” of Capt. Christopher O'Kelly, has been found at last, and with it the simple evidence of tragedy and herolsm in the Northland wastes. Murray died making a last effort to save his pal, who himself had won the highest award for bravery in the British empire, the Victoria Cro: O'Kelly's body was found two v ago. The story as told today by F. Cvans, Winnipeg prospector, 18 one of the weirdest that has ever come out of the gold camps.
