COLUMBUS, Ohio, July 2 hibition promises to be the dominant issue in the August 10 Ohio primary campaign for the nomination of both Republican and Democratic Candi- dates for the United States Senator and for the Republican governor. In the gubernatorial contests this issue is expected to be more pro- nounced, as these two contests are ex- pected to develop the most gener interest. While it also will be a fac- tor in the Republican senatoriall bat- tle, the fact that Senator Willls has seven opponents lessens his concern about being renominated. Contest Botween Sexes. The cbntest between former Sena- tor Atlee Pomerene and Miss Flor- ence E. Allen, Supreme Court judge, probably will be fought mainly on the wet and dr; se, the liberal forces supporting Mr. Pomerene and the dry ates backing Miss Allen. A ndidate is Charles E. The fight between Mr. Pomerene and Miss Allen also stands out as the first real contest between a woman and a man candidate for a major of- fice in Ohlo. Four years ago a wom- an seeking election as United States as an independent received a few thousand votes.
