CHURCH NEWS., First Congregational Jubilee Project Closes Tomorrow 700 New Copies of *‘The Pilgrim Hymnal’ To Be Consecrated A diamond jubilee project closes in the First Congregational Church tomorrow when 700 new copies of “The Pilgrim Hymnal” will be con- secrated and placed in service. The books were bought through a cam- paign by the Scrooby Club. John R. Wells, president of the club, will present the books. A special group of hymns from the new hymnal wiil be a feature of the service. Dorothy ‘Wilson Halbach is guest soloist and the Washington A Cappella Choir will sing “Jesus Only,” by Rotoli. ‘The Rev. Howard Stone Anderson, pastor, will preach on “God Has Done These Things in Our Time.” There will be no evening service until October. The Tuxis Club meets with the other groups in the Pilgrim Fel- lowship at Lincoln Temple Congre- gational Church tomorrow evening. The Friendly Forum meets Mon- | day at 6 pm. for dinner.
