A—14 = Lutheran Convention To Begin Wednesday At Church Here Colorado Senator To Address Banquet Saturday Night ‘The New York Conference of the Lutheran Augustana Synod of America will hold its annual con- vention next week in the Augustana Lutheran Church. Dr. Arthur O. Hjelm, pastor. About 250 dele- gates will attend the convention, which will begin Wednesday and continue through April 28. The delegates will represent Augustana Synod churches and institutions in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Maryland. | A meeting of the Conference Board of Missions will be held at 10 am. Wednesday at the church, and in the evening the opening serv- ice of the convention will be held. Business sessions will be held each day until Sunday from 9 am. to noon and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m, and convention services to which the public is invited will be held each evening at 8 o'clock. The Thursday evening service will take the form of a sacred concert by the Upsala Col- lege A Capella Choir of East Orange, N. J, and on Saturday night the| convention banquet will be held with Senator Edwin C. Johnson of Colo- rado as the principal speaker.” The Woman's Mission Society of the New York Conference will hold its convention simultaneously with that of the conference.
