Mrs. Gordon's gown was & Lanvin model in bright Christ- mas green and Miss Gordon wore a white dress in empire style with puffed sleeves and a slight train and carried an arm bouquet of deep red roses. The tea table was laid in the ball rcom and had a large mound of red roses surrounded by holly and red candles in candelabra gave a soft light. Roast shoat with an apple in its mouth and a wild turkey were on a smaller table near by. Miss Price Guest Visiting Mrs. Kautz From South Africa MIBS PATTIE PRICE of South Africa is visiting Mrs. Austin Kautz, and this afternoon Miss Price will give a program at the English Speaking Union. The visitor is a “diseuse at the piano,” and not only sings and plays and tells stories, but also composes many of the fascinating little songs which are on her pro- grams. Miss Price has entertained the children in the British royal family and in the house of the Governor General of Australia. ‘Tomorrow Miss Price will give a brief program for the little patients at Children's Hospital, using the songs from her recent book, “The Afrikaner Little Boy.” : V.M. I. Club to Give Christmas Dance Alumni and Cadets of the V. M. I. from Washington and vicinity are invited to attend the annual Christ- mas dance of the V. M. I. The Franciscan Monastery in Brook- land will be the scene of s solemn high midnight mass again this Christe mas. The impressive ceremonies ushering in the joyous season will start with the chanting of matins at 10:45 o'clock tomorrow night, fol- lowed by the mass at midnight. After the mass the friars will en- circle the church in procession to the Grotto of Bethlehem, with serve ices similar to those held in Bethle~ hem of Palestine on Christmas night. On Christmas morning masses will be celebrated at the grotto at 6, 7 and 8 o’clock, followed by a second high mass at 9 o'clock.
