' C-8 OLD VAUDEVILLE PROGRAM FOR AIR Fifth ‘Professional Parade,” With Niblo, on WMAL at 9 Tonight. AUDEVILLE in all its bygone glory will be featured during the fifth “Professional Pa- rade” tonight on WMAL at 9. Pred Niblo, veteran director of the silent films, will be master of cere- monies. Two of the highlights will be the Memory Lane Trio, whose combined ages total 210 years, and whose old- est member is 76, and the De Marco Children, & trio whose combined ages add up to just 25, the youngest mem- ber being 7. Other contributors to the program include Yvette Rugel, veteran vaude- ville trouper; Marion Gaynor, Cana- dian singer, and Blix Ruskay, im- personator. WASH!NGTON'S two N. B. C. sta- tions—WRC and WMAL—will devote 90 minutes tonight to pro- grams in the interest of “The For- gotten Child” in connection with the campaign of The Evening Star and Warner Bros. to provide toys and other gifts for needy children of the District on Christmas day. The first portion of the broadcast, starting on WRC at 10:30, will feature Leon Errol and members of his “Holly~ wood Follies” show now appearing at the Earle Theater. After that, Matt Windsor and his Volga Boatmen Or- chestra and other entertainers will broadcast until 11:30, when WMAL | will pick up the program originating | at the Heigh-Ho Club. There Pete Macias' Orchestra will play for 30 minutes. THE life and achievements of Sam- uel Morse, inventor of the tele- graph, will be dramatized during the “Cavalcade of America” program on WJSV at 8. NAVAL EXPERT DIES “The Retired English Engineer-Ad- miral, Anstey, Succumbs. LONDON, December 16 (#).—Efi- gineer-Rear Admiral Willlam John Anstey, retired, who was credited with making valuable experiments in the British Navy's use of fuel oil, died yesterday. Engineer-Rear Admiral Anstey was born in 1860, and received his early naval education at the Portsmouth, England, dock yard and the Royal Naval College at Greenwich. He became engineer-rear admiral in 1913, and retired in 1917.
