GEORGETOWN BODY RELECTS SMAL Association to Seek W. P. A, Funds to Restore Francis Scott Key House. John H. Small, former Representa= tive from North Carolina, was re- elected president of the eeorgemwn Citizens' Association meeting last | night at St. John's Church pnrlsh‘ hall. Other officers elected are Ernest I. Lewis, first vice president; Dr. B. H. Meyer, second vice president; Joseph 1. Cavenaugh, secretary, and Maj. Wallace Streater, treasurer. Owen J. Roberts, Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court, was among new members admitted. A resolution - was adopted asking W. P. A. funds to restore the Francis Scott Key house at Thirty-fifth and M streets. The association opposed a three eight-hour-shift day for District fire- men because of fiscal and parliamen- tary problems involved. The question of approving the construction of an abattoir in the District was referred to the Legislative Committee. The proposed reopening of the M street market at Potomac and M| streets was referred to a committee as was the proposed weight tax on| automobiles. Edward D. Merrill of the Cnpitnl‘ Transit Co. spoke on problems of mass | transportation and President Small praised the company for its efforts to improve service. .
