Congregation Is to Be Seated in Open Air, Under Trees. STAF‘F officers and members of the Grand Army of the Republic, as- sembling in Washington next week for their seventieth national encampment, wiil attend a patriotic service on the lawn around the Peace Cross of Wash- ington Cathedral tomorrow afternoon at 3:45 o'clock. Music will be fur- nished by the United States Marine Band under command of Capt. Tay- Jor Branson and the principal address will be delivered by Bishop James E. Freeman. Rev. J. King Gibson of. Dayton, Ohio, chaplain-in-chief of the G. A. R.. will lead the congregation in prayer, and Oley Nelson of Slater, Iowa, commander-in-chief, will make @ brief address. The service will be conducted by Canon Raymond L. ‘Wolven, chaplain to Bishop Freeman, as master of ceremonies, and Robert G. Barrow, Cathedral organist and | choir master, will direct the Cathe- dral choir of men and boys. Service to Be Broadcast, ‘Beginning with the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” at 4 p.m., the service will be broadcast for one-half hour over the Nation-wide networks of the National ‘Broadcasting Co. and the Columbia Broadcasting System.
