Recent Weddings Of Interest Here The marriage of Henry C. De Shields, mayor of Tappahannock, Va., to Miss Thelma Reamy Wilkerson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Wil- kerson. The wedding took place Mon- day in Annapolis, Md. Both are well known, Mr. De Shields being an at- torney. Miss Wilkerson has been roll call chairman of the Red Cross in Essex County. Following a wedding trip they will return to Tappahan- nock to reside. ‘The marziage of Mrs. Carrie Dobyns Perry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Dobyns of Clarendon, Va., and Mr. ‘Thomas F. Brightwell, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Brightwell of East Falls Church, Va., took place Sunday after- noon at 2 o'clock in the parsonage of the First Baptist Church, the Rev. Perry L. Mitchell officiating in the presence of the immediate families only. The bridegroom formerly lived in Columbus, Ga., and his bride is & native of Orange County, Va. Mr. and Mrs. Harry M. Watkins of Chevy Chase announce the marriage of Mr. Watkins' niece, Jane Robley Oliver, to Mr. Paul Gardner, son of Dr. and Mrs. Henry A. Gardner, also of Chevy Chase, Saturday, November 30, in Elkton, Md. Announcement is made of the mar- riage in Shepherdstown, W. Va., Sat- urday evening of Miss Mary Elizabeth Van Metre and Mr. Robert Leroy Dailey, both of Martinsburg, W. Va. The ceremony was performed in the Episcopal Church by the rector, the Rev. Leicester F. Kent. The bride was attended by Miss Mery Miller and Miss Mary Frances Morrison, both of Kearneysville, W. Va, and Mr. Herbert Radcliffe of Ridgely, Md,, a classmate at Shepherd College several years ago, was best man. Mr. and Mrs. Dailey left immedi- ately after the ceremony by motor for California, where they will visit rela- tives. They will reside in Martinsburg. Mrs. Dailey is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Van Metre of Jefferson County, and a niece of Dr. and Mrs. J. L. Myers, Shepherds- town. Mr. Dailey is a son of Mayor and Mrs, Chris H. Dailey of Martins- burg, is a graduate of Martinsburg High School and Shepherd College. Mrs. Dailey has been associated with & public utility in its home demonstra- tion department in the Martinsburg section for some time. She is also a graduate of West Virginia University | and Shepherd College.
