B—10 &% NEW SHIFTS SPEED INTERIOR BUILDING Night Work Is Started on | $11,000,000 Structure. 1,200 Now on Job. In an effort to speed completion of the new Interior Department Build- ing, now under construction, at a cost of. $11,000,000, a third shift of nren was put to work last night. The new shift will work five nights & week, from 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m, supplementing the work of the other shifts, which are on duty from 8 a.m. to 12:30 pm. and from 12:30 p.m. to 7 pm. With the aid of the new workmen, it is hoped the building will be completed by next December. Addition of the new shift brings total employment on the project to about 1,200 men, besides those at work | elsewhere in the fabrication of ma- terials, Out of the total estimated cost of | the building, it is figured, 75 per ceXL represents labor charges.
