Losses of usually less than a point were well scattered among corgorate issues, especially railroads. United States Governments were generally on the offside. Among issues losing were Alleghany | 8s at 515%, St. Paul 5s at 14%, Erie 58 st 682 and New York Central 5s at 78. Higher prices were paid for Santa Fe 4s, Detroit Edison 4!%s, National Dairy 5Y%s and United Drug 5s. Declines in the Governmegt list| ranged from 1-32 to 3-32. ‘oreign | bonds were mixed. A drop of 3 points in German 5'2s to 2814 was a feature. NEW YORK, December 2.—New orders booked at hnmber mills during the week ended November 23 increased nearly 5 per cent over the previous week, the National Lumber Manu- facturers’ Association reported today. Production of reporting mills was 1 per cent higher, while shipments were down 7 per cent.
