BOSTON, November 15.—The names of two President’s sons— James Roosevelt and John Cool- Than 2,000,000, Hop- kins Reports.v /By the Associated Press, 4 With only 15 days le#t in which to omplete the taking of 3,500,000 per- mons off the Federal dole, Adminis- trator Harry L. Hopkins edged past the halfway mark on two fronts today by ordering nine additional States cut off direct relief and releasing the latést employment figures, as of November 2. showing 1,737,610 work-relief jobs had been provided. The latter figure, how- ever, now is estimated at more than 2,000,000. The nine States informed they “have been given their last allotments of Federal funds by the F. E. R. A.” were Arizona, Arkan$as, Colorado, Idaho, Kentucky, Maine, New Jersey, Oregon and Virginia. Hopkins said they had been given supplementary allotments to aid in transfer of unemployables to State and local care, and to support other needy until they are given work-relief jobs, but did not say how much. Ohio, one of the States cut off the dole earlier this month, had received $2,000,000, to last until the 15th, but was given another $2,000,000, which was not formally announced. Other States already cut off the dole are Alabama, Indiana, Nevada, New Hampshire, Vermont, Wyoming, Mary- land, Delaware, South Dakota, Rhode Island, Georgia, Iowa, New Mexico, South Caroline, Mississippi and Con- necticut. More than 400,000 additional jobs a week must be provided this month if the 3,500,000 objective is attained by December 1, the postponed dead- line for ending direct relief. The No- vember 2 report, although showing a idge—are absent from the 1936 edition of the Boston Social Reg- ister, just published. Coolidge’s name was in the 1935 register, but Roosevelt’s was not. Mrs. John .W. Attridge, the register’'s local correspondent, ventured the information, how- ever, that Mr. and Mrs. James Roosevelt would be imcluded in the New York edition. Mrs. Grace Coolidge, John's mother, was listed. James Bryant Conant, president of Harvard, was included for the first time. The former Elizabeth D. Al- ford, who recently wed a campus policeman at Bennington, Vt. remained in good standing. Per- sons listed in the volume who marry outsiders sometimes are dropped.
