By the Associated Press. SAN DIEGO, Calif, August 22.— The California Pacific International Exposition started the second half of its season yesterday apparently an assured success. An average attendance of 29483 was recorded in the first 84 days of | the 167-day season for a total of some 2,470,000 visitors. The international enterprise offers many free attractions, but conces- sionaires and showmen generally re- ported brisk business. Some showmen claim they have done better at the San Diego Exposi- sition than at a Century of Progress in Chicago. President Roosevelt is expected to visit the exposition in September. The fair, which is to end November 11, is a non-profit proposition. A Citizens’ Committee raised by public subscription more than $700,000—the original working capital.
