ADVANCING PRICES BOOST BUSINESS Reports Show Marked Trend Toward Liquidation in Loans. Advances in commodity prices have had a marked effect in stimulating business throughout the country, ac- cording to reports of loan agency man- | agers of the Rcconstruction Finance Corporation. Here yesterday for a conference with the directors of the corporation, they said the attitude of bankers, business men and individuals in their districts is | growing better daily. Loans Being Liquidated. One of the most notable factors in the situation, they said, is the liquida- ticn in loans made by the Agricuitural Credit Corporaticn and by the Recon- struction Cerporation itself. In many districts the rate of repaymenit has in» | creased materially since farmers began disposing of their products at rising prices. The meeting was held in an effort to speed up the work of reorganizing closed banks and creating new ones through purchase of preferred stock. Announcement Made. An announcement at the corporation | yesterday said: “It is hoped as the result of the con- ferences now being held to co-ordinate the work of all of the agencies located in the various Reserve districts with the Washington office and thereby to benefit both applicants and the cor- poration. since the loan agency man- agers are the governmental representa- tives with whom the borrowers first come into contact “It is the opinion of Jesse H. Jones, chairman of the board of the Recon- Elructicn Corporation, that the sessions now being held will serve to speed up Teorganization of all banks and the creation of new ones.” R ENOCH ARDEN CASE Second Marriage Annulled When “Dead” Husband Turns Up.
