‘C—12 TREASURY MOVES TOTAKE PROPERTY Will File Papers for Tracts, Between Pennsylvania and | Missouri Avenues. The Treasury Department today was preparing to file papers for property lying between Pennsylvania and Mis- souri avenues, Third and Sixth streets. Much of this area has already been purchased direct, but about 30 parcels remain to be taken over by the process provided in the new condemnation law. ‘The check will be deposited in court, the Government will take title to the land, and the exact cost which the United States must pay will then be shreshed out in the court afterward. ‘This process will enable the Govern- ment to proceed with tearing down all property in these areis before the end of this year. .Constitution avenue is to cut through one of the blocks and run into Pennsylvania avenue, while the | other block, nearer the Capitol, is to| be turned into part of the mall, to be | known as Union Square, at the foot of Capitol Hill . Among the places of business to be demolished in reservations A and B| will be St. James Hotel, the J. William Lee undertaking establishment, Stand- ard Oil gas station, Peter Latterner estate and Kendall Iron Works. | First-Grader Again CHICAGO RABBI REFRESHES 1‘ MIND ON ENGLISH. | | i | | | RABBI 1.
