Hughes, 41, treasurer of the Shubert-Belasco Theater, former treasurer of Poli's Theater, and & former actor, died yesterday at Mount Alto Hospital, following an illness of several months. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afterncon at Hysong's funeral parlors, followed by burial in Arlington National Cemetery. Mr. Hughes, who was well known throughout the theatrical world, was born in Brooklyn. He came to Wash- ington soon after his discharge from the Rainbow Division, after serving 18 months in France, and became treasurer of Poli’s Theater. When that building was razed by the Government, the Shuberts transferred him to the Belasco Theater. He participated in several major engagements with the Army in France.
