JULY AIR TRAFFIC SETS NEW RECORD Passenger and Airmail Totals Break All Marks, C. of C. _ Reports. All records for passenger traffic an the Nation’s air transport lines were broken in July, according to a report issued here today by the Aeronautical Chamber of Commerce. Airmail pound- age also reached a new high in that month, as did mileage flown. The .report shows that 55782 pas- sengers were carried on the transport lines in’July, an increase of reatly 10,- 000 over the previous monthly peak of 46,290 110 August, 1930, The number carried July was 26 per cent greater than (3'1!!‘ same ‘month of 1930 and exceedéd the total for the entire year of 1928, Airmall poundage has shown a stady {icreass sinoe January 1, and when the June total reached 803,835 pounds the 800.000-pourid mark was exceeded in a single month for. the first time in his- tory. In July the mail shipments to- taled 807,508 pounds. The total for the first seven months of this year was 5,325,188 pdunds, an increase of 12.7 per cent the same period last year. Mileage flown in July by planes on the regulsr lines totaled 4,- 213,403 miles, as compared with 3,098,- 570 miles in the same month of 1930 and 3,910,931 milés in June this year. Mileage flown for the first seven months of the year totaled 22455878 miles, an ipcrease of “almost 33 per cent over that flown 'during the same months last vear. L.
