Registration for qualification in the 1931 model aircraft tournament, sched- | uled to begin August 31, must be in the hands of the D. C. Model Aircraft League by Priday of this week, it was announced yesterday by John H. Wil- liams, director. Model aircraft bufld- | ers residing within ;. radius of 20 miles of the Capitol building are eligible to register. The tournarent will be in 12 events, commencing August 31 and continuing through September 4, it was announced Bix of these will be staged Indoors. Prizes to be Awarded. A number of prizes are to be awarded | to individuals and groups. A 30-inch silver trophy for the District champion- ship is to be awarded by the Aviation School of America. This is to be a “continuing” trophy. It will be awarded yearly and engraved with the name of the winner. The Ace, or Silver Ace. winning the highest number of points | in the finals of the tournament, will be | declared the D, C. champion for A small trophy will be presented to the | champion, to kezp. The Committee Cup will be given | the Model Afrcrait Club or Center| whose mernbers win the greatest num- | ber of points in all events during the tournament. To the winner of the highest num- ber of points in each class, a wrisi| watch will be given. The second high- | est winner in each class will receive| model building tools and a kit of su lies.
