FOR CANP RITCH New Mess Halls Will Enable All State Units to Train at Same Time. Special Dispatch %o The Star. BALTIMORE. August 22—The con- struction program now under way at Camp Ritchie, Cascade, Md, is ex- pected to expand camp facilities so that next year all State units of the B58th Brigade will be able to attend Summer encampment at the same time, according to Brig. Gen. Milton A. Reckord. In the past it has been necessary to send the Maryland regiments to_the Summer camp one at a time. This was due to the fact that, although 19 kitchen mess buildings were called for in plans for the regimental area, only 13 were at the camp. Bids for construction of the six ad- ditional buildings have been invited, and it is expected that work will begin within the next few months. All 19 mess halls will be ready for use by next Spring. The three units whicn comprise the B8th Brigade are the 1st Maryland nt, the 5th Maryland Regiment and the 58th Brigade Headquarters Company. These will go to the camp ther next Summer. t is expected that the new buildings will cost approximately $14,000.
