By the Associated Press ATLANTA, Ga., April 16—A Catho- lic, & Jew and a Protestant laid aside | their theological differences here last night to agree that wealth must be more equitably distributed if economic ills are to be avolded. They spoke at the convention of the Religious Education Association. Father Michael Kenny of Spring Hill | College, Ala., cited that 96 per cent of the country's wealth is concentrated in the hands of 20 per cent of the popu- lation. He suggested that the Federal Council of Churches would have done better to advocate & more general s\nlrln[ of wealth instead of birth con- trol Rabbl Samuel H. Goldenson of Pitts- burgh said modern economic life is now organized so_that personal values are neglected. He specifically mentioned “neglecting to tell the truth in adver- tising,” and sald that the business world should adopt as its motto “Let the seller beware” instead of “Let the buyer beware.” 2 Dr. Harry Ward, professor of social ethics at the Union Theological Semi- nary, New York, stated that ‘“unless | economic forces ‘can be brought into | harmony with the ideals acknowledged |in religion, art and science Western | civilization cannot escape tearing itself | asunder.” | The theme of all the speakers was | “Religion in the Economic Process.” Machine-Made Story Plots. Declared to be capable of bullding millions of movie and story plots, & robot has been invented by & Los Angeles scenario writer, Wycliffe A. Hill, formerly a staff writer at the Uni- versal Studious and now editor of the Creative World e, “Shake- speare's Ghost,” as his creater calls him, is a mechanical device which se- lects background, characters and dra- matic situations from a series of tapes on which there is recorded all the story plot ‘material in existence, it is stated. The inventor says: “The plot robot tells you what happens, bringing your cre- ative mind into play to figure out how it could happen that way. When you have done this, you have a perfect plot —one that imagination alone would never have supplied or which you -could never have obtained from experience or ‘by reading either fact or fiction.” PRERSI S, Town of Ruins and Roses. ‘The ancient town of Visby, on the d of Gottland, Sweden, is sur- rounded by a mighty town wall, built on natural rock with an unobstructed view over the wide expanse of the Baltic. It is about 6,000 feet in length on one side and over 4,000 feet on the other, with 37 towers nearly 60 feet high still standing. Within the city are the ruins of 11 of the 15 churches of olden time, and a number of houses of ancient merchant prineces of the old days of the Hanseatic League. Visby is called the town of ruins and roses, for the flowers tumble over the walls and about the gardens on scores of its little narrow streets. It is one of the most interesting places In the northland. e “Eternal Match” Invented.
