Adams-WatsonWedding Is‘Event of April 8 In St. Alban’s Church Leesburg Church Is Scene of Miss Franklin's Marriage to Mr. Gillespie. The marriage of Miss Nancy Adams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Graves Adams, of Edgemoor, to Mr. Walter Scott Watson, will take place April 8 in St, Alban's Church. place yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock in the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, Leesburg, Va. when Miss Mary Ellen Franklin, daughter of Mrs. Franklin and the late Benjamin Willard PFranklin of Leesburg, Va. became the bride of Mr. Joseph Stras Gillespie, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Jeff Gillespie of Tazewell, Va., Rev. W. M. Compton, pastor of the church, per- forming the ceremony. ‘Wedding music was rendered by Mrs, Charles R. Norris, organist of the church, before and during the ceremony. A vocal selection, “Because,” Miss Elizabeth Steed. ‘White satin, made with a long, full skirt, and having a train, fashioned the gown of the bride, who was given in marriage by her mother. A lovely lace veil, draped with orange blossoms, fell over the long satin train, She wore white satin shoes and white gloves, while a shower bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley completed her costume. White cut flowers, banked against meen, decorated the church, and in the soft candlelight presented an atmos- phere of Spring, which was further car- ried out in the gowns and bouquets of the attendants. Mrs. Hughes Butter- worth of S8avannah, Ga., the matron of honor, and Miss Polly Riddle of Norfolk, Va., the maid of honor, wore gowns of white chiffon, green picture hats, green vhite mitts and carried arm ouquets of white sweet peas tied with green tulle. | ‘The bridesmaids, who wore gowns similar to that of the bride and carried | arm bouquets of white sweet peas with the green tulle, were Mrs. William Zircle of Baltimore, Md.; Miss Kath- erine Bridge of Leesburg, Va.; Miss Dorothy McIntosh, Columbia, 8, C., and Miss Virginia Willlams, Charlottes- ville, Va. Little Elizabeth Gore of Leesburg, Va., who acted as flower girl, wore & whits frock with green picture hat and green shoes and carried a basket filled with white flowers. The best man was Mr. Charles P. Gillespie of Tagewell, Va., and the ushers included Mr. John lespi= of Ve Dr, Rufus Brittain, M jr., University, Va.; man, liams . Res S. Galleher of Leesburg, Va., acted as masters of ceremony. A reception at the home of Mrs. Franklin followed the ceremony, after which Mr. Gillesple and his bride left for a'short trip.
