JOMENWILL MEET N DEFENSE PLANS fitriotic Conference to Open Session Here on Thurs- ; day Night. { Treading almost on the heels of Organized women who seek to banish ‘war by its causes and cure, up of women's organizations, in- that America look to adequate national defense, will initiate a three- meeting here on Thursday. Prom- inent speakers will address the sessions of the Women'’s Patriotic Conference on | the National Defense, representing 40 na- tional women’s patriotic groups thet will summon some 600 delegates from all corners of the land, to meet at Memo- rial Continentz]l Hall. A great public gathering, to be held on Thursday night in Constitution Hall, will be out- to register at al Continental Hall, national headquarters 6f the Daughters cf the American Revolution, on Thursday morning, but Mrs. Robert L. Hoyal of Arizona, the national president of the American Legion Auxillary, who is chairman of the conference, will have her headquarters at the Washington Hotel, with the State presidents and executive committeewomen of her group. Walsh and O'Nell to Speak. In the forefront of the speakers will be Senator Walsh, Democrat, of Massa- chusetts, and Ralph T. O'Neill, national commander of the American Legion, who will speak on national cefense at the opening meeting on Thursday night. Mrs. Hoyal, Mrs. Lowell F. Hobart, president general of the Daughters of American Revolution, and Mrs. Virgll McClure, national president of the American War Mothers, will speak briefly.
